Very often genital warts are covered by pubic hair growth. During foreplay the act of rubbing can easily distribute the virus. It has been noted that there is a decrease in the possibility of becoming infected with genital warts if you use water and soap to wash after any kind of sexual contact. But remember that this is not a sure thing.

When it comes to female patients a doctor may use a special lense that is called a colposcope to verify the verdict. The best means of discovering HPV in females is by a Pap smear. This test is foolproof.
